classes & schedule

Class Descriptions:
Ashtanga
An ancient form of yoga practice composed of a repetitious series of traditional postures. The combination of breath, energy locks, and focus creates a moving meditation.
Basic & Basic II
Introduces basic yoga postures along with breathing techniques and one-point focus. Basic II expands on this foundation for a more demanding physical experience.

Everyone’s Yoga/Intro
Experience yoga's benefits in an introductory class centered around breathing techniques for calm and relaxation, simple yoga postures adapted to the physical needs of the student (using props), and meditation.

Gentle Flow
This milder, slower form of Vinyasa is a very meditative class uniting breath with movement.

Harmony Flow
Class progresses through a series of Yang (muscular) postures aligning breath with movement, and ends with seated Yin (stretching) postures to create balance & harmony.

Hatha
A more static form of yoga, in which poses are held for a number of breaths rather than flowing from one to the next. Practicing Hatha teaches you to steady your breathing and still your mind while experiencing a variety of postures.

Interval Training
A type of physical training that involves bursts of high-intensity work interspersed with periods of low-intensity work -- a perfect complement to your yoga practice.

slow burn/slow flow
This slower pace class will challenge you to hold intense postures, heating the muscles in order to tone the body and foster a state of serenity within.

Thera Yoga
Ideal for those who would like to try yoga but wonder if they are physically ready or strong enough. You will be gently guided at a slow pace to build strength, with the option of working into areas of your body that need healing.

vinyasa
A vigorous, flowing sequence of postures in which each movement corresponds to an inhalation or exhalation. A good match for those accustomed to more aerobic styles of exercise.

yin
Yin Yoga targets the connective tissues of the hips, pelvis and lower spine, creating a more flexible and toned core by holding seated postures for three to five minutes at a time. This type of practice complements the more muscular styles of Yoga, bringing even more balance into your practice.

yin & Yang
A short vinyasa flow, balanced with a series of Yin postures. (Similar to Harmony Flow, but with class time more evenly divided between Yang & Yin segments.)
